A little too tough

Exams are nearing. To be more exact, it's 2 weeks and 2 days later. I'll start my first paper on a sat, yes on a saturday. 5 papers, 10 days. How should I start planning? I still have one more assignment on modelling using Matlab that I have to submit by next Friday. Will I be able to submit on time?

I have two open book exam this semester. It's gonna be real hard. My engine is breaking down soon but through my optimistic mindset, I will endure till the end of my papers!

Happy mugging!

Emotions of love

Hello all, been pretty busy lately due to my school work. Many quizzes and exams are coming up. Today was a great day! Studied with pigg at my house. Just as we bid goodbye, emotions gushed up to my brain which triggered unbearable tears. That moment was so wonderful and I felt it. True love. I found it. I see it in his eyes. I felt it with my heart. The warm touch of his hands...

I love him

I realised I didn't have many dreams in my life. And I'll end my post with a dream. My current dream to travel in New Zealand with pigg, lying on the vast land, watching the sun as dawn approaches and as dusk sets in. Hopefully it will be our graduation trip. Money would be an issue but it can always be earned back. Time waits for nobody. So let us enjoy while we can!

Dollar

A post specially for our beloved Dollar.

Today was a day feeling sombre. Dollar left us at 3.50pm today. Forever I will remember her paw, asking me to stroke her whenever I am beside her. I'm glad she has gone to the vast heavens and her sufferings were alleviated. Herare some photos of Dollar at Gentle Paws shelter and the vet.

Dollar had chronic kidney failure which was undetected.

Chronic Kidney Failure

Chronic kidney failure occurs when both kidneys gradually cease to function. Within the kidneys are numerous tiny structures (glomeruli) that filter waste products from the blood and retain larger substances, such as proteins. Waste products and excess water then accumulate in the bladder until excreted as urine. In chronic kidney failure the kidneys suffer progressive damage over a number of months or years.

Signs of Chronic Kidney Failure

Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is a slowly progressing disease. The first signs are increased urination and thirst. As your dog ages and his kidn

eys become less efficient, his body compensates by increasing blood flow to the kidneys trying to improve the filtering process. As a side effect, the dog produces more urine. At the same time, he becomes more dehydrated due to increased fluid loss in the urine. Thirsty, your dogbegins to drink more and more water.

Treatment of Chronic Kidney Failure

Chronic kidney failure is one of the most common cause of illness and death in older dogs. Most dogs with chronic kidney failure are older than 10 years old. The chances of a dog getting it increase as the dog ages. In fact, most older dogs have some changes in kidney enzymes on blood tests. When caught early, the proper diet, supplements, and sometimes fluid therapy can delay and may even prevent kidney disease from becoming kidney failure. Some holistic doctors have noticed that since pet owners began feeding processed pet food, more dogs are getting kidney disease.

Conclusion: processed pet food are bad for dog's health too.

She will be deeply missed....

Goodbye.

A Significant Hug

Yesterday a scene kept flashing in the back of my mind. Hugs. I remembered I was at the shelter last sunday and went into Caspian's cage. While sitting on the bench, Caspian was on my left side for me to stroke his fur. Suddenly he pounced on me and gave me a hug. I hugged him back. Many of us would think that this is insignificant. But to Caspian and the dogs, it matters alot to the dogs - dogs who were abandoned once or even more than once. I believed that every dog at the shelter yearns for love and care from people. A hug can be such a strong feeling that it can make a person cry - tears of joy. Caspian is a very handsome and good boy. Like any dog, once that trust is built, he can be really friendly towards one. And I felt it. I began to love him more and more as I proceed down to the shelter every week. Hoping to have him as my house dog even though I know it is impossible. Deep down in my heart, I can only silently wish that he can be adopted into a good family who is able to give him the love that he yearns to have.

You came into my life and gave me something precious.

Nostalgic Memories

Today is 3rd October. Mrs Lee Kwan Yew just passed away yesterday after surviving on medical life support for two years. A memoir of her is now showing on television. The soothing music that was played on tv led my thoughts flow into the days where JY and me were in Hong Kong. We spent our last three days of our overseas trip there. The feeling I felt then was so low. This overseas trip was our longest trip ever (1 month 6 days) and I think we won't be able to experience this delightful travelling again. We did all the planning by ourselves; en-quiring about hostels, booking accommodations, sleeping in a 10-men-room, getting to know new people, bathing in public toilets, doing our poos and pees on grassland, watching the beautifully awesome sunrise together with JY, travelling long distance by bus, train or flight, lugging so many luggages with us, exploring attractions together, going into the forbidden part of the great wall and getting lost together!

I miss them very much.

I held back my tears.

It's back to my usual life again.

Anyway! Something that I always look forward to is the dog trainings on sundays! I got dear Dexter to sit today! Good boy Dexter! I hope that after these 10 sessions of training, you'll get adopted and continue the rest of your life in a pleasant environment. :)

Last day of our long holidays

The feeling is terrible. School's starting tomorrow! I have not done enough mental preparation yet, still in a holiday mood. Thinking of travelling 4hours daily is utterly disgusting. Hopefully this semester would be a smooth one.

Jiayou to zinc, ah pei and wanyi for their tiring work!

Recover soon zinc! ;P

Gentle paws session

My bro, JY and I went down to Gentle paws @ pasir ris farmway 2 no. 16 to help out with the shelter. Basically, gentle paws is a new shelter set up on April to give shelter to those homeless dogs as well to put them up for adoption. It's currently lacking in manpower as they have about 30 dogs, which requires many manpower especially when it comes to walking the dogs. We also fed the dogs, clear their poos (quite alot haha) and play with them. We've not come to the stage of bathing them yet which I feel that much interaction with the dogs would be required before we can actually control them for bathing (:

Today when we went down, the dogs were already so excited for walks! They were all crowding around the gate. I was so happy when I saw them so excited and ready. So immediately, we took 3 dogs for a walk. As usual, JY took Mario. My bro took Dyana and I took Dexter. I made short runs and many times I felt breathless. My stamina deproved alot.

After which, we fed the dogs. They were so hungry such that they finished their dog food and were craving for more! Following which we just lingered around and played with the dogs.

Today I'm so happy, to the extent that I didn't want to leave the shelter. Saying goodbye is always sad. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the next trip down to the shelter. And who knows I'll become a regular there?

Here are some photos which we took, enjoy!

This is Dollar, a golden retriever. She likes us stroking her fur.

Busy enjoying the last few days before school starts!

Hi guys! I lost the cable for my hard disk and yesterday I bought a new one from sim lim square. However, my laptop was not able to detect my hard disk and I called up the repair shop. The person on the phone told me to bring along my hard disk down and they would chk it. And today I went down again to the repair shop at sim lim square #06-02. The guy who attended to me told me that all hard disk will develop this detection problem after some time of usage. It was due to insufficient of power transferred to the hard disk and hence unable to be detected. I was then told that as you use longer, all hard disks would have a tendency of increasing their amount of power required for the detection. Therefore, the solution would be to buy a "Y" cable, which consists of 2 usb connections and 1 mini usb to your hard disk. Plug both usb to your computer/laptop and the mini usb to your hard disk and it'll work! So if anyone encounters similar problem, try this solution!

After settling the hard disk problem, I met up with JY to play badminton at the tampines sports hall. Aww, we tried challenging each other and I lost to a score of 10-21. I realized my weakness of missing shuttlecocks that flew near to the net. After that, we started training on the weakness. However, it was rather a short training before the next person who booked the court came. Thus, we stopped and was hoping for empty courts. Unfortunately, all was taken.

Nonetheless, we went to the tampines swimming complex and swam 20 laps! It was so tiring. My stamina went down alot ever since I went to Shanghai. So disappointing but I'll do better the next time! haha, that's about all!
